HEALING FROM PET LOSS
This web page focuses on experiences, insights and synchronicities surrounding the spiritual connections I share with my dogs in the physical world, as well as in the afterlife and reincarnation. It's my hope that the signs I starting receiving within a 1/2 hour of my dog passing will give you hope, and lessen the pain of losing your beloved pet in the physical world. Please know, your pet wants to send you signs, but sometimes it's too hard for them to break through your heavy weight of grief.
Celebrating life
If you have a dog that is sick or getting close to their transition from earth, I encourage you to stay upbeat instead of feeling sorrow in the last days you have together. There is enough time for sadness after they pass.
My service dog, Rina had her share of health problems the last year before her body left this earth. But rather than focusing on sadness, I decided to celebrate her 13th birthday in Vegas!
Six weeks later she transitioned to the afterlife. It was very comforting to spend one-on-one time with her during a difficult but memorable time.

Life interrupted
Rina was healthy her entire life. But, during her 12th year, she acquired colon cancer, laryngeal paralysis and vestibular syndrome. On Memorial Day 2016, at 13 years of age, Rina’s illness took her body.
Rina started sending me signs within ½ hour of her body’s departure. It is my hope that others who find themselves in such sorrow can find comfort in the ways that I found which changed my state of mind from mourning to inspiration. Coincidences that aren't
I saw signs of Rina’s presence almost from the moment of her spirit leaving her body in the form of dozens of unusual occurrences. Things only she could provide.
Butterflies, lots of butterflies, a figure in mist at an intersection, dates, times, places, people named Rina, occurrences in my neighborhood unheard of before her passing: all related to Rina and her memories.
I found comfort in the signs, and my crushing grief during the first week after her earthly death steadily turned to inspiration as I continued to open myself to endless possibilities for now and the future.
Listening to our dogs in the afterlife is just as important as listening to them when they stand beside us!

Taking the first step
This journey I’ve been on with Ricochet and Rina has been very serendipitous from day one. But now that Rina’s body is no longer on this earth, it seems more synchronistic than ever. My spiritual connection to her feels even stronger.
If people remember from Ricochet's book, Rina arrived in Chicago on a plane on June 20, 2003 as an 8 week old puppy. She played a crucial role as the catalyst that started our whole journey. We are only now, after her earthly death, learning the extent to which she guided us as we went out into the world of people who needed Ricochet’s healing.
I’m took some of Rina’s ashes back to our old home in Chicago. The day Ricochet and I flew back there was June 20, 2016... She first came to me on June 20, 2003.
The serendipity doesn’t stop there. There was also a full moon and summer solstice which only happens about once every 30 years.

Afterlife healing
Anytime I ever thought about Rina’s body leaving this earth, it was always met with trepidation. I often asked her “how will I live without you?” So, when she made her transition, I was surprised by the comfort it gave me to know her spirit didn’t die. We would always be connected. Knowing that dogs can continue their healing power, and maybe at an even more powerful level made my sorrow not as heart wrenching.

Together through paws-on healing
The triangle that was Rina, Ricochet, and I changed forever the day that Rina’s body left this earth. Ricochet and I had to learn to take the first steps of independence without our anchor and catalyst. Rina is still with us in spirit, but we must learn more about ourselves in order to go forward on our continued spiritual journey.
With reliance on the lessons we have learned from Rina, we went forward together with great hope. The spiritual world changed forever for me though. If you long for respite and peace after a terrible loss, stay aware of your surroundings. Your pet is trying to send you signs. If you're grief is too heavy, it's hard for them to get through.

A dog's purpose - reincarnation
The path I’ve been on with my dogs has been very spiritual and full of synchronicities.
But, I never really thought much about reincarnation, besides having read “A Dog’s Purpose” several years ago. I didn’t see the synchronization at the time, but the author, W. Bruce Cameron wrote the Foreward for Ricochet's book: Riding a Wave of Hope with the Dog Who Inspires Millions. Little did I know Bruce’s fictitious story would become Rina’s non-fiction life. I believe our connection with him was for a much greater purpose... A Dog's Purpose!
